(Space)
This work is part of the “two squares” series, created from the desire to see whether what had been achieved with painted paper could be realized instead with paint and canvas. While maintaining a frontal presence, a floating square appears alongside an upper band placed as if to pin the surface to the canvas.
The central square is not merely a shape; it plays an essential role in symbolizing the spatiality of the picture and the act of visual inquiry itself.
Here, within the fluctuation of Zensō (Pre-layer), the center begins to emerge and starts to function as the axis that supports the space of the painting.
(空間)
二つの四角シリーズ、紙でできたことを絵具とキャンバスで出来ないかと思い挑戦した作 品です。正面性を維持しながら浮遊する四角と画面がキャンバスに釘付けとなるように置かれた上の帯が有ります。
中心の四角は単なる形態ではなく画面の空間性や、視覚的探究を象徴する重要な役割を 担っています。 ここでは、
前層の揺れの中で中心が生まれ始め、 その中心が画面の空間を支える軸として働き始めています
